Saints keep Wil Lutz on NFL record, five-year $20.25 million deal, for a placekicker

Wil Lutz was an unknown free agent in 2016. A preseason casualty of the Baltimore Ravens cutdowns, the Georgia State rookie went on to become a valuable weapon in the New Orleans Saints offense. His 136 points in the 2018 regular season led all NFC kickers and he made a team record 93.3% of his FGs. Lutz was money from the critical 40-49 yard range going 11-12. This proven production over the last 3 years has paid off for the Perla Sports Management client with one of the most lucrative contracts ever for an NFL kicker. The Saints signed Lutz to a five-year contract extension worth $20.25 million, including $9.2 million in guarantees.
